Temperatures in the United Arab Emirates are forecast to rise to 40°C during Eid al-Fitr.
In addition, the National Centre for Meteorology (NCM) has forecast light rainfall in several parts of the country this week, including Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Abu Dhabi and Dubai started the week with highs of 32°C and lows of 22°C. The weather bureau predicted winds of up to 40km/h and choppy conditions in the Gulf and Sea of Oman.
Cloudy weather continued until Thursday, with temperatures set to rise again today to 38°C in Abu Dhabi and 37°C in Dubai, with a minimum of 26°C.
Rain is forecast to start in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Dubai from 1pm on Thursday before moving east.
The weather conditions are expected to be similar across all the emirates. However, the NCM predicts rainfall in Ras Al Khaimah on Thursday afternoon, with humidity reaching 85%. Temperatures in the area will rise to 37°C, with a minimum of 23°C.
Fujairah will continue to experience cloudy weather with temperatures reaching a high of 36°C and a low of 25°C. Some areas of the country, including Abu Al Abyad, Al Ain, Mezaira and Gasyoura, will see temperatures exceeding 40°C.
